Description:

The Atlanta Showroom is offering this 1965 Chevrolet Corvette. If there is a car that answers all the questions of “is it a good investment”, “is it fun and appealing”, “will it get noticed at a car show, stop light, anywhere” “is it the best American sports car”? Well here is your answer, plain and simple…a C2 Corvette. This Nassau blue vette stops you in your tracks and excites every sense of your car needs. The 327cid engine is not numbers matching, but runs like a swiss clock with the recent rebuild on the transmission. If you can’t see yourself in this car with the AC on with the clean white top up on the hot days and the top down on those perfect weather days, then you have never experienced the feeling of a corvette. This is a better than average driver and not so perfect you are afraid to pull it out of your garage. Have we said what a great Vette this is, well…it is. The second generation Corvette, which introduced Sting Ray to the model, continued with fiberglass body panels, and overall, was smaller than the first generation. The car was designed by Larry Shinoda with major inspiration from a previous concept design called the Q Corvette, which was created by Peter Brock and Chuck Pohlmann under the styling direction of Bill Mitchell. Earlier, Mitchell had sponsored a car known as the Mitchell Sting Ray in 1959 because Chevrolet no longer participated in factory racing. This vehicle had the largest impact on the styling of this generation, although it had no top and did not give away what the final version of the C2 would look like. The third inspiration was a Mako Shark Mitchell had caught while deep-sea fishing. Production started for the 1963 model year and ended in 1967. Introducing a new name, Sting Ray, the 1963 model was the first year for a Corvette coupé and it featured a distinctive tapering rear deck. The Sting Ray featured hidden headlamps, non-functional hood vents, and an independent rear suspension.[24] Corvette chief engineer Zora Arkus-Duntov never liked the split rear window because it blocked rear vision, but Mitchell thought it to be a key part of the entire design. Four-wheel disc brakes were introduced in 1965. Other options available on the C2 included the Wonderbar auto-tuning AM radio, AM-FM radio, air conditioning, a telescopic steering wheel, and headrests. The Sting Rays independent rear suspension was successfully adapted for the new-for-1965 Chevrolet Corvair, which solved the quirky handling problems of that unique rear-engine compact. Options include: AC, power steering, wipers, horn, seat belts, gauges, AM/FM, radial, clock, radial tires, rally wheels, convertible top, and turn signals. Description:

Gateway Classic Cars Dallas is pleased to offer once stunning 1961 Chevrolet Corvette. This Frame-Off Restoration has been completed in Honduras Maroon/Black Interior. Currently, a Show car that can be driven near anywhere, she was a Blue Plate California Car and has 140K Original Miles on the chassis, about 20,000 on the restoration. The previous owner bought this car in 1965 from the original owner, a school teacher woman in his hometown. At the time the second owner was living in New Jersey and had a one-car garage where this Corvette spent the majority of its life as a weekend type of car. He had other cars as drivers but did drive the car. In 1975 he moved to Newport Beach, CA. Thus the Blue CA plates. The car has primarily been in the Huntington Beach area over the last 43 years. The 1961 Corvette featured here is a really nice specimen of a very original car. In 1992 the Previous owner decided to do a body-off restoration at around 120K miles. He took the car out to Jay Jorgensen, at Classic Corvette, Inc in Riverside, CA. (later known as California Street Design). The car body was removed from the frame and completely stripped. The solid original rust-free frame (see photos of restoration near the end of the pictures) was sandblasted to remove old paint and surface rust and was then powder coated. The cars paint was completely reconditioned along with all the chrome plating on the car. Most of the emblems were replaced with NOS emblems. During the build, the following items were attended to Complete removal of body, stripped, reworked and repainted, Frame Powder Coated, Wheels Stripped and Repainted, Complete New Exhaust System, Complete New Front End, New Shocks Front/Rear, Complete New Wiring Harness, New Drive Shaft, Complete Rechrome, New Windshield, New Weather Strip and Felt, New Shocks Front and Rear, New Brakes, New Carpet / Sun Visors / New Trunk Mat, Brand New Top / Top Kit, New Light Bulbs, Full Tune-Up of Engine. The engine is a Corvette 327/350 that replaced the original 283 dual-carb setup at 80K miles. That would put the mileage on the 327 at 60K miles. He changed the oil once a year religiously since he has owned the car.m In 2006 the Carburetor was completely rebuilt at 131K miles and a new battery was put in the car about a few years ago. All receipts and many pictures of the frame-off restoration come with the car. Body and Paint Lets make one thing perfectly clear, the number one thing to look for in any collector piece is the finest body possible. Factory original bodies on Corvettes are nearly impossible to find these days. This is an extremely straight bodied car, one of the finest I have seen. Take a look at the gaps all the way around the car and the bead around the rear end. Any bodywork was addressed during the restoration process and the work done was top notch. When the car was repainted it was stripped to the glass, primed, blocked judicially and painted. The paintwork on this car is high-caliber and was done by a discriminating shop that knew what they were doing. There is easily $15K-worth of high-end paintwork on this automobile. rubber and window felt appear to be like new and was replaced at the time of restoration. The front windshield was replaced during the restoration and the two side windows are original to the car. The chrome on the car is solid The chrome bumpers have been redone, with a very small amount of pitting on some pieces. The trim and emblems are all newer from the restoration, however, they are in great shape. Instead of cheap replicas, they look to be NOS to me and representative of a life spent in a garage and carefully handled. We dont believe this engine has ever been apart and runs out as nicely as I have ever seen on a 327-350hp Vette engine. It idles smooth and does not smoke. It is a very strong running engine and almost feels like it is brand new. The Exhaust System is all brand new. The front-end was completely rebuilt and drives down the road straight as an arrow with no shakes, shimmies or rattles of any kind. At that time the lower ball joints were replaced, as well as tie-rod ends, installed new front and rear shocks. The brakes were completely rebuilt during the restoration. It stops with authority. The Hurst Three-Speed Manual shifts smoothly and the owner states it was in the car when he bought it. The Undercarriage is completely rust-free and in very tidy condition. It was stripped and powder coated front and rear during the restoration. Interior The Interior is a solid 8 out of 10 conditions. The carpets were replaced during the restoration. The door panels look original to me and in a very nice driver condition. The dash was replaced during the resto. The convertible top was replaced during the restoration and has basically been down in the hole every since. The interior door sills are original to the car but add to the overall nice look of this rare vehicle. A Rare Original style Honduras Maroon Corvette in exceptionally nice above-average driver condition. This is a great way to own a wonderful old Corvette. Everything on this little gem is exceptional. It runs and drives extremely well and has a very tight feel to it. You would be very proud to present this Corvette at any local car shows or events. This is a car that would be a great show car or just a gorgeous and unique driver for cross-country driving or rallies. It can be seen in greater detail including 100+ HD pictures and an HD video at https://www.gatewayclassiccars.com/dfw/1233/ For additional information please call our sales staff at 817-310-9400 or email us at dallas@GatewayClassicCars.com. Description:

For sale in our St. Louis Showroom is a Pro Touring 1968 Pontiac GTO. This GTO was built with drivability and fun in mind from the get go. The build started in June of 2009 and was completed in March of 2010. The burgundy exterior paint is a color from a 2009 Cadillac and features a slight metallic flake. The black leather interior is mostly custom, and features seats from a 2005 GTO that were slightly modified to fit and look right inside this 68 GTO. Other custom touches in the interior include the console and the stainless-steel dash insert. Powering this Pro Touring GTO is a 428 CID V8 engine with a 4bbl Edelbrock carburetor and intake, chrome valve covers, and a mild performance cam. The 2.5 Ram Air exhaust flows to Spintek mufflers and X-pipe creating a killer sound. All this combines for an impressive 392 horsepower at the rear wheels. A Tremec 5-speed manual transmission transfers those ponies to the Posi-Trac 10-bolt rear end with 3.55 gears and provides a super fun driving experience. Opening and closing the big hood is made easy via the Billit aluminum hood hinges, that also look pretty darn cool. The ride height and overall stance is achieved via 2 drop spindles in the front and 17 Mickey Thompson aluminum/alloy wheels that are wrapped in brand new Toyo radial tires. The odometer reads 13,115, the actual mileage is unknown, and the build is believed to have between 6,000 and 8,000 miles on it. Options for this 1968 Pontiac GTO include: Air Conditioning, AM/FM Radio with MP3 Connectivity, Power Drivers Seat, Leather Interior, Seat Belts, Power Brakes, Power Steering, Radial Tires, and Aluminum/Alloy Wheels. When looking at this 68 GTO you would think the build was completed last year, to find out it was finished 8 years ago gives you a great idea of the care given to this beauty by the owner. This is a super fun GTO to hop in and drive all day long, whether it be across town or across the state. The 2009 Audi R8 looks every bit the exotic, a silhouette that seems designed for high-speed runs with extensive ductwork for engine cooling and brake venting, and huge wheels with a staggered size, front to back. Stunning details such as the LED light bar at the front and a glass engine cover that displays the LED-illuminated engine make it resemble a museum piece.

The entire vehicle weighs only about 3,400 pounds and has a near-perfect (rear-biased) weight distribution to take advantage of the engine's mounting, just behind the front seats. The R8's lightweight construction and racing-inspired details are derived from Audi's experience with the racecar of the same name.

You don't have to drive the R8 at illegal speeds to enjoy it, though it sure does have a presence on the racetrack. The R8 feels hefty and stable at triple-digit speeds, while also managing to convey lightness and nimbleness at low speeds. Meanwhile, the all-wheel-drive system, which can send up to 35 percent of torque to the front wheels, puts the power to the pavement without drama. And the sound from the V-8 is a nice baritone, but not so loud that it brings on fatigue.

A BEAUTIFULLY designed sportscar with the Audi name backing it up! Come down and check it out!
