Description:
Following the downsizing and adoption of the Panther platform for the 1980 model year, the Lincoln division was faced with a critical issue. After the discontinuation of the compact Lincoln Versailles early in 1980, Lincoln was left with two full-size sedans. Although each brand-new for the model year, the Lincoln Continental and Continental Mark VI were functionally identical vehicles. Aside from the "Continental tire" trunklid and hidden headlamps of the Mark VI, the two vehicles offered little differentiation.
The Lincoln Continental made its return in early 1981 as a 1982 model. To further separate Continental from the Town Car, Lincoln designers shifted the car into the mid-size segment. Though again marketed against the Cadillac Seville, the 1982 Lincoln Continental was never officially considered by Lincoln as the replacement for the Versailles. Marketed solely as a four-door sedan, the Continental was the first (and currently, only) Lincoln ever to wear the "Continental trunklid" of the Mark series. It shared its wheelbase and powertrain with the Mark VII introduced for the 1984 model year.
Using the lessons learned from Lincoln Versailles and badge engineering, Lincoln stylists took great care to differentiate the expensive Continental from the Ford Thunderbird and Mercury Cougar XR7 sharing a common chassis with it; unlike the Versailles, no visible body panels were shared.
Shifting from the Ford Panther platform to the Ford Fox platform, the Lincoln Continental became a mid-size car for the first time. In its redesign, the Continental would lose nearly 9 inches in wheelbase and 18 inches in length, along with over 400 pounds of weight.
Although it would be the shortest-wheelbase Lincoln ever (at the time), the Continental would use a stretched 108.5" wheelbase version of the Fox platform used by the Ford Thunderbird and Mercury Cougar. In marked contrast to its Cadillac Seville competitor, which switched to a front-wheel drive GM platform, the Continental retained the use of rear-wheel drive.
The 1982 Lincoln Continental was fitted with two different engines. The standard engine was a 131 hp carbureted version of the 5.0L V8. At no cost, a 3.8L V6 (shared with the Ford Thunderbird and Mercury Cougar64) was an option; it was the first non-V8 Lincoln since 1948. Both engines were discontinued for the 1983 model year, replaced by the fuel-injected 5.0L V8 from the Town Car. All three engines were fitted with the 4-speed Ford AOD overdrive transmission. As a response to the diesel engine options available in Cadillacs and a number of European luxury brands, Lincoln introduced an optional 114-hp 2.4L turbodiesel inline-6 sourced from BMW (with a ZF 4-speed automatic transmission) for 1984. WIth only 1,500 sold, the diesel-powered Continental was rarely ordered and discontinued after the 1985 model year.
The seventh-generation introduced two features as industry firsts: gas-charged shock absorbers and self-sealing tires.

Description:
1995 FERRARI 456GT for sale. Motorcar Classics is proud to present this stunning 1995 Ferrari 456GT featured in Verde Inglese (British Racing Green) with Tan Leather Interior. The 1995 456GT is the first year of this 2+2 Grand Touring Ferrari which replaced the long running series that started with the 365GT/4 2+2 in the early 70s and ran through the 412GT of 1986. At introduction, the 456 attracted much positive attention. Since the early 70s, the companys 4-place cars were the only front-engined V12 cars, and their appearance was rather conservative and characterized by creased and squared lines. The 456s dynamic stance, classical proportions and sensual curves caused enthusiasts and critics to make unsolicited comparisons to the legendary front-engined 12-cylinder Ferraris of the 1960s and 1970s, and with a 436hp 4-valve V12 and 6-speed gearbox, the 456 provided a level of performance that remains, even today, quite impressive. Indeed, with a top speed near 190 mph, the car was the fastest 4-seat production car then available. This particular car is an extremely nice example that has been well-maintained, as indicated by a thick sheaf of records dating back to the late 90s. Prior owners invested over $50,000 in maintenance, including new tires, transmission rebuild, steering rack rebuild, major service (including valve adjustment, tensioner bearings, timing belts, accessory belts, gaskets, rebuilt water pump, spark plugs, spark plug wires, all filters, all fluids, front and rear deck lid shocks), rear shock absorbers, and fluid changes and chassis services every year. The engine compartment and trunk are both extremely tidy and original. The engine is tidy and retains all its correct markings and decals, while the trunk contains its original 10 disc CD changer, as well as custom Ferrari cover. This is an excellent opportunity to acquire a meticulously maintained 6-speed manual 456 GT in a lovely and rare color. The car is up to date on all services and is complete with Schedoni manual pouch with all manuals, as well as a thick history file. The car also has its fitted Ferrari cover and tools. Highly recommended.

Description:
For sale at Gateway Classic Cars in our Atlanta showroom is a 1967 Chevrolet Corvette coupe. This beautiful coupe has a timeless color combination of Red over Black complimented with red line tires! Power comes from a numbers matching 300 horsepower 327 and is backed up by replacement 2 speed automatic transmission. The consignor states the previous owner rebuilt the engine, which has 1,055-miles currently, removed the 4-speed manual transmission, adding the automatic, as well as aftermarket a/c. This was all done in the interest of his wife, so she would enjoy her Vette! Equipment is plentiful and includes leather seats, power steering, power disc brakes, A/C, power windows, AM/FM radio, and CD player. Mileage on the odometer was apparently turned back to zero during rebuild and is showing 1,055. We have marked the mileage as unknown due to lack of documentation. This is an older restoration that still shows very well and would be a great cruiser as is or an easy one to take to the next level and attend some NCRS meets for some judging. The 1967 Corvette is one of the greats as it is the last year of the mid year Corvettes and the last of the original Sting Ray. The mid year Corvettes went through a lot of transformations from 1963 to 1967 including a multitude of engines, the introduction of disc brakes and the big block in 1965, mild aesthetic changes with hoods and louvers and some colors specific to certain years. Some say that 1967 was the best and usually is when considered the last year of any generation as all tweaks for improvement have been made and refined. For more information on this eye catching 1967 Chevrolet Corvette, call 678-894-4833 or stop by our Atlanta showroom. To view HD photos and video, visit www.gatewayclassiccars.com

Gateway Classic Cars of Nashville is proud to digitally showcase this top of the line pearl white 1941 Willys Coupe. Since the early days of hot rodding and drag racing the formula has been simple stuff a big engine into a small and light car and put big tires underneath. That is exactly what we have here. Like drag early drag racers, this car started out as a fiberglass shell. It was then perched on top of a street beast chassis and a small block Chevy 427 stroker motor was bolted right up to a T-10 4 speed manual transmission. This combination makes for a great time on the street, cruising around town, or just challenging Milner to a run down Paradise road. For all of its nostalgia, this ride has many modern accessories and options to offer the modern motorist that make road trips and hot summer days a breeze. Ceramic headers and side pipes with heat shields, a nice option, sound great and they are easy on the legs. This Cobra has $1,250 of optional paint protection film on the nose, fenders and door tops keeping them pristine. Check out the wheels, true knock offs with retention wires. Everything about this Cobra has been engineered to deliver the performance that you would expect from a first class performance roaster. Description:
Now for sale in our Houston Showroom is this awesome tribute to one of the true American muscle cars, the 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle. Bathed in its original shade of Hugger Orange (color code 72), this Yenko Tribute has been assembled to mirror a Chevrolet COPO 9737 option Yenko Sports Cars build (of which only 99 were manufactured in 1969); but this one has some very desirable modern enhancements. With only 400 miles on it since the engine build was completed, this beast is powered by a professionally-built and balanced 427 CID big block V8, complete with 840 rectangular port heads, and a Comp Cams roller cam (11-602-13) with roller lifters and rockers. Electronic ignition fires off the go-juice supplied by the brand-new Holley HP Electronic Fuel Injection, so this beast is daily-driver capable, thanks to the tractability provided by its fully-tunable modern fuel injection system. A new 4 core radiator helps keep engine temps in check while coated Hedman headers direct the spent fossils through its custom dual exhaust system, adding to the deep rumble of this cammed big block, and making this Yenko Tribute for sale sound as nasty as it looks. Coupled to a Muncie 4 speed manual with Hurst shifter, this baby gets the power to the ground NOW. Hooking up is no problem, thanks to the beefy 315/35-ZR17 Nitto 555 radials out back. Inside, the factory gauges keep the driver informed during cockpit operations, and a custom stereo system with AM/FM/CD player and Bluetooth send the tunes pumping out through custom kick panel and parcel shelf speakers, which are further enhanced by the trunk-mounted subwoofer. Bucket seats up front, and a rear bench seat give you the chance to take the whole family out to car meets, or run a crew to the racetrack. On the way, the Vintage Air A/C keeps the occupants climate comfortable, and the newly-rebuilt front suspension, complete with coil-over shocks keep all four tires contact patches square to the pavement. Other additional features and options on this 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle for sale include A/C, Aluminum Alloy Wheels, AM/FM/CD Radio with Bluetooth, new Floor Mats, a new Fuel Tank, Performance Radial Tires, Power Brakes, Power Steering, Seat Belts, a new Serpentine Belt accessory drive system, and Vinyl Interior. For more information on this 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle Yenko Tribute for sale, please call the Houston showroom at (832) 243-6220; or email us at Houston@GatewayClassicCars.com. Description:
Gateway Classic Cars of Denver welcomes this 2016 Ford Mustang GT350! Upon its debut in 1965, the Ford Mustang was Fords most successful launch since the Model A. This iconic machine essentially created the term, “Pony Car and has been influencing the sports car market ever since its birth. It was only anticipated that Ford would sell less than 100,000 Mustangs upon its arrival into the automotive world. They out did those projections by just a few to say the least. Producing over 1 million Mustangs in the first 18 months of production due to the enormous demand. This car is nothing short of a beautiful ride! This monster of a 2016 Ford Mustang GT350 is one you need to make an offer on as fast as possible. The Shelby GT350 was a limited-edition car, therefore she has VERY low miles, only 3,545, as a result. We have to start with the most obvious, the power plant. This Shelby has a 5.2 liter V-8 that has been tuned by RPM and equipped with LT Headers providing and amazing GROWL. This hungry beast is fed by a beautiful JLT Performance cold air intake adding more horsepower on demand. Her suspension has a track pack edition going for her as well, allowing her to grab an apex with command. The windows have a high-quality tint applied; this gives it that mean look. Her keyless entry allows you gain access to the black leather heaven inside. Everything in the interior is power, apart from the seats. Since you are never going to get out, this isnt an issue. Eventually youll have to refuel this baby; and when you do have to stop, the killer Brembo brake package will make sure you stop on a dime. The rear end gear is a 3.73 providing just the right amount of torque for a great launch off the line with your Michelins clawing at the pavement. You feel like a god flying through the manual 6 speed transmissions which shifts ever so smooth. It can be seen in greater detail including 100+ HD pictures and a HD video at www.GatewayClassicCars.com.
